Gwynn, from my surreal fantasy novel The Etched City. [link] Watercolour, ink, acrylic and much post-prod. Obviously goes to the same hatter as D. I need to go back and fix some things in Photoshop if I can. But though the devil's in the details, it still basically looks like him.
(I have no idea why he's standing thigh-deep in the water; it won't do that coat any good!)
Woah, this is really good. I like the colours a lot. The floral pattern is really captivating. It's as though the landscape is fusing with the clothing. Kinda skeletal and visually beautiful. I didnt realise Gywnn was so androgynous. I guess it makes it more compelling. Charming and extraordinary
I'm honoured by the thoughtful comment. He was even more androgynous in the original drawing, before I put paint on the paper. In my mind, he looks a bit like a youthful David Bowie with long black hair. (As for the girly hair ribbons, Boy George may have had more influence on me than I suspected.) But I wanted readers to have their own impression of him -- I didn't want to insist on him being pretty.
God the detail in this is beautiful- the over all character design is just really really nice and very effective. And I just love the way the whole image flows. Nice work ^^
